Preparing Your First Sample Case: What to Send and Why It Matters

A sample case is the simplest way to evaluate a new design or manufacturing partner. To make the evaluation meaningful, the case should be prepared the same way you would prepare everyday work.

Choose a representative case

Pick a case type you send often, such as a posterior crown or a short-span bridge. A typical case shows more about consistency than an unusual one.

What to include

  • Complete scan files for the preparation, the opposing arch and the bite
  • A clear prescription: tooth numbers, restoration type and material
  • Shade information and any aesthetic notes or photos
  • Preferences for contacts, occlusion and minimum thickness
  • The expected turnaround time and delivery format

Agree on how results will be judged

Decide in advance what a successful result looks like: fit, margins, contacts, anatomy and communication along the way. This makes the review objective and useful for both sides.

Share feedback

After the case is completed, share specific feedback. It helps the partner adjust to your preferences before regular work begins.
